Meeting Schedules

July

Our garage sale and koi auction turned out well. We did have 15 members there to assist with all the garage fanatics. Our newest members Joyce, Terri, Gary, Shawn and Becky pitched in like they have been doing this for years. It was awesome!!! We got to see some of the regulars of course, Patti, Dori, Dave, Shirley, Don, David, Nate, Kathy & myself and Shirley Miers came in from Ocala. It was great to see her. I believe she also made mention to David that she would like to host a meeting. Do I see a field trip in the near future??? Karen

June

The June meeting held at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens on June 1st at 2:00 P.M.

Dr. Bruce Yancey did his slide presentation, showing his trials and tribulations in the building of his 20,000 gallon pond. One thing that Bruce made mention of was when you set up your pond and you put in a couple of test fish, DO NOT use goldfish. Unless of course you want your pond to be overrun with this kind of fish. Regardless of how much you study the mechanics of pond design, construction etc. you will always find room for improvement. Hence your pond will always be an ongoing project.

Don put together a stock tank waterfall mechanical biological filter system, in about 30 minutes. Rubbermaid has changed their mold so he had to make a couple of adjustments and it turned out ok. Karen & David Hardcastle purchased it and it is now set up in our barn for the boys.
